Everyone laughs.

My plan to ask Clint about yoga at the goat farm will have to wait. Now is not the time for that.

I shoot off a text to Kent.

Me:Just heard the news.Sorry about your wife.I’m excited to meet your son.If you need anything, just say the word.

Hours later, I get a reply.

Kent:Thanks. Not yet sure what I need.

“I hate that bull.”I roll down my window and back my truck toward the trailer.

Dag motions for me to keep coming, then clamps his fist shut, and I stop.“Far enough.I’ll hook it up.”

After just a few minutes, the trailer is in place, and I slide in behind the wheel.“I’ll let you know if we need help.Beau and Clint are meeting me out there.”

“I’ll be around.”Dag fans himself with his hat.“This is what, the fourth time he’s escaped?”

“At least.”I wave, then pull away from the barn.Bumping along the dirt road, I check the time. It’s Wednesday, which means they’ll be having goat yoga.I haven’t yet invited myself, but if that’s what it takes, I will.Seeing Jasmine is a priority.

Beau opens the gate to the pasture where the ill-behaved beast has ended up.That bull must be jumping fences.Nothing else makes sense.I pull the trailer in, then hop out and open the back.

Getting here was the easy part.Tricking the bull into actually walking into the trailer will be tougher.

That beast puts up with us for a while. Then something sets it off, and it rushes Clint.I have never seen that man run so fast.He launches himself over the fence, and narrowly misses a collision with the bull.

Beau rushes over, and I call Dag.

“’ello.”

“We’re going to need some help, I think.Clint just jumped a fence, and based on the way he’s limping, I doubt he’ll be here much longer.”

“On my way.I’ll wrangle a few others to help too.”

“We’ll need it.This bull is in a mood.”

“He’s always in a mood.”Dag chuckles.“Be there soon.”

I slip out of the pasture without drawing attention to myself. If the bull wants some alone time, I’m not going to argue.

Clint is in Beau’s passenger seat and tosses me his truck keys as I approach.“Park it near the cabins.”

“Will do.And should I maybe head over to help at the goat farm?”

His grin says he knows exactly why I want to go over there, at least partially.People can see I’m interested in Jasmine. They just don’t know why.

“Yoga tonight?”

“Rumor has it.”I dance my eyebrows.I care less about the yoga and more about the yoga instructor.

“Sure.Joji’s probably good, but check in with her.And if you need an excuse to hang out there more, she’s talked about digging up a spot for a spring garden.”

And there’s my reason for showing up at the farm each week.

“Thanks.I’ll talk to Joji about that.”

By the timethe bull is back where it’s supposed to be, yoga is about to start, so I hurry to the farm.
