Carlita waved her finger at him. “Uh-uh. You’re not getting any more information out of us.”

The host winked at her. “Maybe when we turn the cameras off, you can tell just me.”

She laughed. “No way. Not on your life. We’ve been sworn to secrecy.”

The host let out an exaggerated sigh. “I guess I’ll have to wait and find out with the rest of America. Trenton, can you tell us when that’s happening?”

Trenton gave the details for the reveal, and the show went to commercial break. My partner might not have enjoyed doing interviews, but he was much better at them than he gave himself credit for. If I hadn’t known he had an aversion to them, I never would have guessed.

“That’s so cool!” Georgia said. “I wish Walter could have gone on the show but, you know, the dementia. I wonder who Carlita is paired with. Not that it matters, since we haven’t met any of the guys.” She no longer sounded bitter about the last part, probably because of her crush on Brandon. It was so funny to hear her describe it as a crush.Perhaps I should think of Trenton that way. It might make it easier to be around him.It only took another second to dismiss that notion. My feelings weren’t innocent enough to be labeled as a crush.

Georgia hopped up. “I better go to bed. I’m meeting with the costume department at seven tomorrow morning.” Her face twisted in disgust.

I shot her a sympathetic look. “Sorry, girl. I’m not until ten.”

“Lucky you. Goodnight!”

Long after she left, I kept replaying the part of the show where Carlita touched Trenton, trying to determine if there was something between them. I had no right to be jealous, and besides that, jealousy wasn’t a good look on anyone—least of all me.
