“Hmm…true, so, therefore, it’s technically not my fault, and you don’t seem like the kind of person who would hold someone’s heritage against them.”

I glare at the stupidly handsome man.

He smiles. “In all honesty, you are safe here. I’m not a psycho, and although clothing is optional, I won’t make you feel bad for wearing some.”

“Can I ask you a serious question?”

He sobers immediately, his face taking on a suspicious look.

“Sure.”

“Why do you want a housemate?”

His hands slide into his pockets as he looks down at his feet. “Truthfully? I get lonely. I’m not saying I need us to hang out and braid each other’s hair, but if something happened to me, I want someone to know I’m missing.”
