Damn it. I didn’t intend to forgive him so easily, but he’s right. I do love him, which is why I was so hurt and angry.

“I don’t really think you’re just a suit with a big bank account,” I say with a small smile.

His forehead presses to mine. “If I thought you did, I wouldn’t be here. Do you forgive me for walking away when I should have fought with you?”

“As long as you forgive me for trying to protect your privacy in the dumbest way possible.”

He smiles. “Done.”

I push up onto my toes and capture his lips with my mouth. His tongue snakes out, and I open for him while wrapping my arms around his neck.

Bentley pulls me away from the fridge and closes the door behind him, then guides us toward the bed.

“I’m going to make love to you now,” he whispers against my lips.

“Good, because if you didn’t, we were going to be in another fight,” I reply with a grin.

His hands grip my hips. “I look forward to all our future fights, as long as they end like this one.”
