As she sat down and unfurled her napkin, Andrea said, “Just to let you know Oliver, from tomorrow Felicity will be staying with us.”

Oliver’s fingers closed around his fork. “I see.”

“It’s going to get squeezy at Rowena’s once Henry and Gabe arrive. So, I offered Felicity the guest room on your floor. Will that bother you?”

Oliver felt a little constricted in the throat. “Why should it?”

“Oh, you know, with working up there on your book. And I know how you love your privacy. But she won’t be here long. Rowena says she’s going travelling after the wedding.”

Oliver merely nodded as he sliced into his chicken.

“I could give her a room on the first floor. But there’s such fantastic views across the river from the third. I thought it would be lovely for Felicity to wake up to that every morning.”

Oliver flashed a smile. “It’s a great idea.” He tore off a piece of bread. Slathered it with butter. Today he needed carbs. And lashings of fat courtesy of a pedigree Danish cow. “Felicity being here won’t bother me at all.”

“That’s settled then.” Andrea sat back with satisfaction and picked up her knife and fork. “Now both of you, give me your honest opinion…. how’s the chicken?”
