I sigh, because I don’t know what else to say to him. We are at a standstill that won’t be resolved until the last day of the challenge, when I win. Then he’ll have to determine if he really wants a chance at a relationship. That’s if I want one by then.
In the meantime, I enjoy the long kiss goodbye he gives me. He kisses my lips, then each one of my nipples, and my navel.
“I’ll see you at two?” he says.
“Why so late?”
“I’m running by the auto store and they don’t open until noon. Remember I told Reese I’d look at your car.”
He leaves me lying in our little love nest. The edges of my mouth pull up as I replay everything we did. This time when I close my eyes, I fall right to sleep, knowing that it wasn’t the last time. He’ll be mine again.
