“You’re going to be such a great leader,” she murmured, sifting her fingers through his long, silky mane.

He leaned his head lower so that it rested lightly on her shoulder and closed his eyes with bliss as she rubbed his neck.
“And one day, you’ll meet the f-female that you d-deserve,” she stuttered, sniffing hastily to stifle a surge of tears.
“You’ll sire the most beautiful children…just like…like we dreamed. You’ll teach them how to be strong and steadfast and courageous just like you. Colts and fillies who’ll run faster than the wind. Who will go on to have families of their own.”
He snuffled her hair and blew a raspberry against her neck, making her cough out a watery chuckle.
“Oh, you big beautiful beast,” she murmured, holding his head with one cheek in each hand and looking into his mesmerizing, sooty-lashed eyes.
“I love you forever,” she vowed.
“Even if you don’t r-remember me, remember my love. Remember that you are always, unconditionally, passionatelyloved.”
His muscles shuddered as he closed his eyes. Because she couldn’t see them, she couldn’t tell if the shiver was from pleasure or pain.
Regardless, she stepped into the space beneath his jaw and wrapped her arms around his neck and chest. Holding him tight.
He curled his neck and leaned his head over her shoulder, holding her too.
“Goodbye, Andros…See you in the next life.”
