“What is your name?” he finally thought to ask.

He’d called her Eir, and she didn’t object. But perhaps she preferred a different moniker in this time and place.

She smiled wryly.

“Eirwen,” she said.

“My name is Eirwen Cadman. My friends call me Eir. I’ve always liked the abbreviation better than my full name. And now I know why.”

His eyes rivetted on her left breast, now fully illuminated under the kitchen lights.

“Your tattoo.”

She had many on her body. But she knew exactly the one he referred to.

“Ah, this one,” she said, cupping the breast in question.

“The one I always engrave into my skin no matter the incarnation. In some lives, I didn’t even know what it meant, but I had such clear visions of what the runes looked like. Maybe I was reminding myself of us. Maybe I thought you would recognize me if I labeled myself properly.”

“I know you,” he husked, gazing into her crystal green eyes.

“I would recognize you with or without those words.”

“And I, you,” she returned.

No longer able to resist his proximity, she came around the counter to stand before him. Then, she hopped onto the solid surface, winding her arms around his neck and her legs around his hips.

“I remember you, earth dragon,” she murmured, pulling him close.

“I love you forever.”

With a smooth undulation of his hips, he entered her in one long stroke, filling her once more to the brim. Making her moan wantonly loud.

“How long until supper is done?” he rasped as he began a rough, hungry pounding, bending her over the counter.

“T-ten…” she stuttered between pleasured gasps, her head thrown back with abandon.

“…pasta boiling…fifteen minutes, give or take.”

“Plenty of time, then,” he surmised, and rubbed her inside and out just right.

She was already detonating in his arms, shuddering breathlessly as she came.

“Yes,” she sighed, clenching him tight. Milking him inexorably for his answering release.

He gave her what she wanted. He always would.

She was his Eir. He was her Kai.

She pulled him down for a luscious kiss. She put all of her heart and soul in every one. Every time their breaths mingled, lips touched.

He felt it. He knew it.

And she agreed:

“We have all the time in the world.”
