Familiar diamond orbs were squeezed into laughing slits, shimmering with barely suppressed mirth.

“Miss Annie is climbing down the hill as we speak,” Sai purred low.

Purred!

How was a woman supposed to concentrate when a man likethatpurred in his deep, sinfully rumbly voice?!

“Either help me into my clothes or go greet your friend and keep her from getting an eyeful. You can look your fill later, my Brigid. Touch, if you like. I very much want you to.”

It might have been the mention oftouchthat brought Brigid finally to her genteel senses. An unbecoming blotchy red bloomed across her throat and face.

She whirled around and stumbled across the beach toward Annie, who was still too far away to see much of Sai.

When she reached her friend, she whipped Annie right around and pushed her back toward the hill, not paying attention to what the woman said. Something about getting worried that she and Sai were lost in the waves they’d stayed gone so long.

All Brigid could think was—

Sai was hers. No one else could see him like this.

No one else would ever touch him like this either.

But she would…

Hopefully as soon as tonight.
