His sister owned a quaint bookshop in the city centre called Rebel Books and Jameson helped out as much as he could, hell even Declan had gotten behind the counter during last Christmas when the shop had been super busy.

“What can I say,” Jamie shrugged his broad shoulders. “Chicks love a dude who can readandis in a band.”

“I’m pretty sure girls who read a lot of books don’t like to be referred to as chicks.”

Jamie waved him off as he strummed his guitar and tapped a hand on the body of the guitar.

“Niamh still dating dickhead Brian?”

“Yup.” That was all that Jamie said in response, but Declan knew Jameson didn’t like his sister’s boyfriend one bit, or how much he was trying to change Niamh.

Was that what had happened with Andi? Had he done something like that to make Andi run from him, to hate him?

“Dec?” Jameson broke through his thoughts again and Declan lifted his gaze to look into the pained expression of one of his closest friends. “If Andi is the one you can’t get out of your head, then go and tell her. Life is too fucking short to keep that shit to yourself. I never got the chance to tell Layla that I loved her. But you can do that, with Andi. Don’t waste any more time pretending she’s not it for ya, man. Go get your girl.”
