Andrea was happy when the conversation veered to JJ asking Andrea her advice on a few roles he was in contention for, and JJ listened to Andrea, taking on board her advice like he had done a few times. He valued her opinion and that meant a lot to Andrea.
At the end of the night, JJ drove her back to her apartment, standing on the footpath outside and running his hands up and down her arms when she shivered. Andrea was aware of the paparazzi lurking nearby and she smiled when JJ bent down to kiss her cheek and thanked her for a pleasant evening.
Andrea rolled her eyes, nudged his shoulder, and told him to give her a shout next week and let her know if he decided to take the roles they talked about. She walked away, feeling happier than she had since she walked into the penthouse and realized it was Heartache Melody she was to manage but then she heard JJ call her name.
He came forward, embracing her in a hug as he leaned in to whisper in her ear. “Love isn’t rational. You can fall in love with the wrong person and it could still be love. The world can be a dark and twisted place but love can get you through it. You let your guard down and he hurt you. but he doesn’t know how you feel, darling. How you felt. He needs to know why and how he hurt you. would you not want to know if it was the other way around?”
JJ stepped away and winked, striding away to his car, glancing over his shoulder.
“Love ya, JJ!” she yelled, laughing as he blew her a kiss, shouting that he loved her too before he ducked into his car and the engine roared to life.
JJ, the soppy git, was right...she needed to get things off her chest and she would do it when she went back to Cork. She decided to throw Declan and bone, texting him and telling him she would be in Cork in a few weeks and they should sit down and chat.
On her way to her apartment, Andrea watched as the message went from sent to read, saw the bubbles that indicated that Declan was responding, her heart in her mouth until the bubbles stopped and then nothing....
Looked like Declan was giving her a taste of her own medicine.
