“Hey, give me that.”

“No.” I put them in my pocket for safekeeping. She goes to fight me, but I’m expecting that. She wouldn’t be here without a little fight. I grab her wrist and slam my lips on hers with a slow passionate kiss that has her melting into me. I grab her hip, avoiding her ass. She’s probably sore. I need to remember to massage her cheeks with oil when we get home tonight. When our tongues tangle, I hear a slight moan escape her. Which only causes my dick to jerk back to life. I need her. Again. Breaking the kiss, I flip her over back to chest, and bend her over her desk. Spreading her legs with my foot, I slide my zipper down and slam into her again.

We arrive late to the restaurant. I usually don’t make it a habit of being late, but the reason was worth it. Having Sophia scream my name as I took her from behind was worth being an hour late. The hostess leads us to our table. I see her checking me out, but I don’t have eyes for her. I only have eyes for the fiery redhead walking next to me. I have to stifle a laugh when I see Sophia giving the hostess dagger eyes. Is my kotyonok jealous? I wrap my arms around Sophia’s waist and pull her closer and drop a kiss on her forehead.

“I only have eyes for you.” She looks up at me with embarrassment showing on her face. I give her a soft peck on the lips. “Only you.” She gives me a half-smile.

Our hostess stops abruptly, causing Sophia to miss a step. I grab her before she falls, and she gives the hostess a nasty stare.

“Please announce when you’re going to stop.” Feisty.

“My apologies. Here is your table.”

Grabbing a chair and bringing it back, I gesture for Sophia to sit. When she does, I push her in and take my seat.

“Wow, such a gentleman. Didn’t know you had it in you.”

“Glad I can still surprise you.”

“Is this restaurant one of your favorites?”

“Yes, it is. This is one of my first restaurants.” She gapes at me.

“As in, you own it?”

“Nothing gets past you, does it?”

She rolls her eyes and smacks me playfully on the arm.

“I thought mafia bosses own strip clubs, not restaurants.”

I laugh. “Don’t tell me you believe those mafia movies.”

“Keep making fun of me, and you'll be sleeping with the fishes tonight.”

I laugh even harder, and she joins me.

“I do own a few of those.”

She rolls her eyes. “Of course you do. So let me get this straight. You own a few restaurants, the biggest Cadillac dealership in Miami, and a few clubs?” I nod. She makes this poor excuse of a whistle.

“I think I’m in the wrong business. I might have to become a member of the mafia after all. Will they accept a girl?”

Anger at the comment washes over me. Thinking of her mixed up in this world fuels my rage even more.

“Don’t you fucking joke about that, Sophia. You’ll never be a part of that part of me.”

“That's a little redundant. You should have thought about that before you forced me into your life.”

I slam my hands on the table, causing her to jump. I can feel eyes on me, but I don’t give a shit. “Don’t confuse them, Sophia. You’re smarter than that. Just because you’re my life doesn’t mean you're a part of that life. You’ll never interact with anyone in the Bratva except for Andrei.”

“You can’t hide me away, Maxim, to keep me safe. That’s not how our relationship is going to be.”

My heart skips a beat at the word she used; I don’t think she realizes what she said. She has never accepted us as being in a relationship. All the anger I felt seconds ago dissipates, and a smile forms on my face.

“Why the hell are you smiling?”
