“Well that definitely deserves a kiss, then.”
I look out my window again, wondering if I’m crossing a line. She’s a mated omega, and even though I feel this pull to her, it doesn’t mean there won’t be retribution for touching something that isn’t mine. I get lost on those thoughts for a minute, when her hand waving to get my attention pulls me back.
“What are you thinking about? Your face changed.”
“I don’t know if your alphas would be okay with me touching you. Or kissing you. Even though you’re fighting right now, you’re still a mated female. I don’t know if it would be right for me to make a move.”
“Well then that will be my first message to my alphas when you send them on their way. You tell them that if they want to get back into my good graces, then they can accept the fact that I have feelings for you and want to explore them.
“They already know that you feel a mate pull to me, and it’s their doing that we’re in this position right now. Tell them I’m not ready to move back home, that I’m comfortable where I am for the time being, and that they need to accept that you’re in my life before I can move forward with them.”
She says all this with such conviction that I’m rattled to my core. She’s standing up for me to her alphas. No one has ever stood up for me before like that. “I’ll…tell them that. Anything else you want me to tell them?”
“Yes. Tell them we can meet them for dinner at a public place in a few days if they accept those terms. Make sure they know that this will be the second part of their apology to me. They need to wine and dine the both of us if they want me to consider accepting them back into my life.”
God, this woman. She’s crazy, but all the best ones are. “Absolutely. Want me to record their reaction? This is kind of fun.”
She rolls her eyes at me. “No. I don’t want anything softening me towards them until I’m ready. Just…bring Parker home and we can all hang out and watch movies or something tonight.”
“Done. I've got to get to work before my boss realizes I’m just talking shit behind his back instead of fixing our accounts. Miss you, see you tonight. I’m proud of you. Keep that backbone.”
