I’m tired of this, so I rub my brow and exhale. “Don’t you think you two need to kiss and make up?” I look over the table at both of them. “And let’s be fair, I shot the gun, so if you want to be pissed with anyone, it should be me.”

“I didn’t expect him to shoot you.” Natalia actually looks nervous, shifting ever so slightly, and it’s a bit fucking precious to watch. “So, I’m sorry for that.”

“You’re only sitting at this table because of her, so if I were you, I’d curtail the disrespect because, if not, I can have you removed permanently.”

Natalia is trying to make ground with Andreas, but he continually pushes her away—well, as well as he can do with his arm in a sling.I’m not having him sit there and play the victim card when I’m not in the habit of listening to them.

“And let’s be serious for a moment, you should have been removed permanently. The only reason you weren’t was because I could use you against her. Now that game’s ended, you’re being given a second chance, and that isn’t something I offer willingly.”

He ponders those facts for a moment before his eyes dart between Natalia and Sebastian.

“Don’t look at either of them,” I state, but keep my face emotionless. “This is me being polite.”

“Fine.” He slumps back into his seat, defeat smothering him. “Fine. I’ll forgive you, but you’ve got to give me a few more days.”

“Whatever you need,” Natalia replies, settling on that.

Clearing his throat, Sebastian shifts. “So, can we get the fuck out of dodge while we deal with this now?”

“Yeah. We know Alistair is up to something, and I’m not about to believe he’s lying in wait. That isn’t his style.”

Everyone gets up. I don’t go for the door, I move around my desk so I can lean on it. Crossing my arms over my chest, I prepare myself for the orders my men will need to take. However, rather than follow, Natalia makes a beeline in my direction.

“You coming?” Sebastian asks, but he rolls his eyes as he sees what she’s up to.

She steps up close to me until she’s standing between my legs. Sometimes it still astounds me how perfectly she fits in with me, so unlike Cassie or any other woman I used to fulfil my needs.

“In a minute,” she says, keeping her attention trained on me.

“Like two horny fucking kids.”

“Fuck off, Seb,” I say and put my arms around her waist. “What are you up to?”

“Nothing,” she murmurs, pushing a strand of hair out of my face, her fingers dancing across my skin. “It’s just an incredible turn-on when you’re in charge.”

“And you don’t think that’s reciprocated?”

“I didn’t say that.”

The wickedness in her expression makes me instantly hard, something I don’t need help with when I have her close. In love and hate, my body always knew her. It betrayed me far too many times for me to think otherwise. I could have tried to resist, but that would have helped no one and I’d still have been the sorry bastard I was in her room before I took her—trapped in the shadows, masturbating.

“I’ve seen what you’re capable of, darling girl.”

“Think how easy this will be to do now we’re together again.” She tilts her head a little, a calculating glint in her eyes. “The world stands no hope.”

The devil takes many forms, but right now, he’s looking fucking beautiful.

“Shame for them,” I agree, knowing I’ll shed no pity on our opposition going forward—Alistair will be the finest example. “Go ahead and let the guys in. I’ll follow when I’m done with Vinnie and my men.”

“Want me to stay?” Sebastian offers.

“No, I want you to get a head start so we can get out of here. Stay with Natalia until Vinnie finds you.”

Sebastian merely nods and pushes Andreas from the room while I loosen my hold on her enough to slap her arse to send her after them. She goes to leave, and I think twice. As my hand slips from her arm to her wrist, I move to catch her hand seamlessly. She does the small turn back, reclaiming her prior position, but this time, a hand settles on my shoulder.

“What’s up?”

“Nothing.”
