“I dare you.”

She looks smug, but that just works in my favour as I draw her forward, my knuckles whitening at the tension I’m placing on her jawline. She grunts in pain, but her gaze doesn’t waver. She’s remaining stoic, even as she realises what’s about to happen. In one swift movement, I slam her head unforgivingly against the wall of her bedroom, making a sickening crunch.

And then I drop her, just as unforgivingly.

“Tie her up and bring her with us.”

My tone is short as I place my gun on the bedside table and finally pull my pants up. I redo my belt, fasten each button, and tuck my shirt in, all while I watch her. I only glance away as I pick my gun up and push it into the back of my waistband.

“Where are we going, sir?”

“Back to the palace,” I state, gazing down at Andreas. “Get rid of him too.”

She brought war.

I’m about to bring vengeance.
