“You will deliver a message to your boss for me. You will tell him that Cyrus Holt demands a meeting with him,” I roared.

“Cyrus Holt? The Cyrus Holt?” he uttered fearfully. His face went as pale as a sheet. I studied him more closely. He was a bit older than the rest of them.

“Yes,” I answered simply. I didn’t think it possible, but he turned even whiter.

“I’m sorry, boss. If I had realized it was you, I’d never have led my men here,” he choked.

“Go. Deliver my message. Don’t make me regret letting you live,” I warned, and he nodded, clearly willing to do whatever I asked of him.

“Got it. Consider it done,” he said quickly. He almost seemed too afraid to move, but finally he scuttled out the door and left the rest behind. I watched him sprint down the sidewalk.

“Follow him,” I directed one of James’ men. He didn’t hesitate and flew out the door after him. I armed myself and moved to the booth in the back to see if Mikey was alright. When I rounded the corner, he was leaning against the wall. He looked a little banged up, but otherwise okay. I let him be and made my way back to the bar.

“This is going to be a pain in the ass to clean up,” Gerard muttered.

“Put it on my tab. I’ve got you covered,” I replied without any hesitation. I was assessing the damage when my phone rang.

“Cyrus,” James said as soon as I answered.

“What is it?” I asked quickly.

“It’s Ava. She ran off, stole the keys to one of my Audis and disappeared,” he said in a rush. “She had told me she was going to relax in a bath, and I let her go. I didn’t think she’d give me the slip after everything you told me.”

I sighed heavily. “When I get my hands on her, she’s going to pay dearly for this,” I muttered.

“Where would she go?” he asked. “I can put my men on it too.”

“I think I know where she might have gone. I’ll make a few calls and figure it out. I’ll let you know if I need anything,” I replied.

“Got it, boss,” he answered quickly, and I hung up the phone.

“Lady trouble?” Gerard offered.

“You have no idea,” I mumbled.
