Grace propped her chin on my chest and simply stared at me in the dark.

Was she having doubts about us? Surely we worked past them all.

“Ok,” she finally whispered into the dark.

“Ok,” I repeated with a slight nod. There was nothing that could stop me from keeping Grace in my life, keeping her as mine.

But then I recalled my earlier thoughts.

“Can I ask you a question?”

She nodded against my chest, her eyes still locked on mine.

“Does Jeremy give you problems? With you breaking up with him?”

She made a face and shook her head. “No. I haven’t heard from him.”

“He seriously just let you go that easily?” I asked in disbelief, to which she shrugged.

“I guess?”

“No…weird voice mails or anything that struck you as odd?”

I watched as she pondered that before she shook her head again. “No, not really.”

Not really, she said. “What does that mean, ‘not really’?”

“I’ve had a couple blocked number calls come in to Sweet Grace but I always have gotten those. Just figured they were telemarketers.”

“Did the amount of calls go up since you broke up with him?”

Again, she shrugged. “Maybe? What’s with the questions, Soy?”

This time, it was me who shrugged. “Jeremy has never sat right with me. In my gut, I feel that something is off. I just want to be sure you’re going to be safe when I go back home.”

Her smile told me she didn’t think she had anything to worry about. Then again, maybe I really didn’t.

“I’ll be fine,” she told me before kissing me again, then whispered against my lips, “I have something more fun to do than worrying about exes.”

My lips curled up against hers. “Yeah?”

“Mmhmm.” She moved on top of me, her small body blanketing over mine. She rubbed her chest against mine, the friction, paired with her body, causing me cock to go rock hard in seconds. “Love me, Sawyer.”

I do.
