There were tears, there was laughter…

This room, everyone in this room, was here because of the love of one woman.

As badly as I was going to miss her—I couldn’t imagine the pain in my chest ever letting up—all I had to do was take in this room.

She was in the faces of my six kids.

She was in the spirits of all my grandkids.

And more than that, she lived on in our hearts.

She may have been gone, but she would never be forgotten.
