I planned for my driver to take Jess home. She pulled me aside and said, “You’re walking through Hollywood? At night?”
“With Liam, look at him, he’s huge. It’s an adventure with ‘spending the night with Liam’ at the end of it.”
She said, “You seem a lot happier than you were and he looks like he adores you, so I’m going to butt out and let you enjoy your ‘spending the night’. The rugby player can take you home, but you call me if anything goes wrong, or call me if it goes right and you need to tell someone the details. I love details as you know.”
I kissed her on the cheek. “If I don’t call you with details right away then I am still enjoying the details and I will detail them all to you tomorrow.”
“Definitely, you owe me — ditching your date in the middle of Hollywood for the Scottish guy.” She waved at Liam.
His brow raised and he waved back.
She said, “Liam Campbell, did you hear our conversation?”
He said, “Aye. I am sorry yer date is ditchin’ ye.”
Jess fanned herself. “Oh my, isn’t his voice just hotness? Go have fun.” She left for the car and Liam held my hand as we crossed the red carpet on the sidewalk, a little like a Cinderella story, except my prince was there, taking me home.
