“Maybe,” I say.

“You thinking Vegas?” he asks me and I nod.

“I’m also thinking of surprising Briar with a Vegas wedding,” I inform him.

“I will come watch you kick his ass and tie the knot,” Aiden says, grinning like a loon.

“Thanks, Aiden.” I am so grateful for friends like him.

“I still get to hit you a few times for good measure. For show and all,” he smirks.

“Wouldn’t have it any other way, brother,” I say as we hug.

“You ready?” he asks. It’s time to face the press.

“Yep, let’s do this,” I say as we step out. Dante is waiting for me.

“Let’s get this over with,” Dante grumbles.

He hates the press and hates the cameras and he probably hasn’t had his coffee yet. I just laugh as we head to the table.

The cameras are almost blinding as we take our seats at the table at the front.

“Dante, what is it like working with your nephew again?” one reporter asks.

“Oh, I love my boy here and I’m happy to be working with him again. He still has his touch, so it was easy,” Dante says.

“Why did you come out of retirement, Kingston?” This is from a woman reporter.

“Honestly, I want to take something away from someone,” I reply and everyone in the room looks at me confused.

“You see there is a fellow fighter that is hell bent on destroying my life. This is a man who I trained, who I helped when he was down. He wants something he can’t have and he’s been harassing me and my loved ones ever since. The one thing he cares about is himself and winning. So, I’m going to show him what it’s like to lose,” I state.

The whole room is silent, no one says a word. I glance at Aiden who just sits in his seat with a smirk on his face.

“Thanks for coming, that will be all,” I say as I get up from the table, Aiden following.

I need to see Briar.

I text to see where they are at.

“You good?” Aiden asks.

“I think so.” I need air. I didn’t think I was going to say all that, it just came out. I keep heading for the front doors.

“Where are the others?” I ask Tristan.

“Broadway. Briar wanted to see Times Square,” Tristan says, looking up from his phone.

Aiden hails an Uber and then we head to Broadway. I just need to hold her, to kiss her.

They’re outside one of the theaters and I have the man stop and I jump out.

“Hey,” she kisses me as I pick her up and hold her tight.

“You okay?” she asks, taking my face in her hands. She must see my panic.

“I am now,” I tell her. I feel better when I’m near her.
