“I hope he will see me to find out,” I murmur.

“Here,” Remo sets my coffee in front of me.

“I got what you wanted,” Holden says, handing me a bag.

“Thanks,” I say as Kingston joins us.

“We’re all coming,” Tana says and I nod.

“Let’s go,” King holds his hand out and I grab it and hold it like my life depends on it.

Kingston

Viktor drives and drops us off in front and goes to park before joining us. Briar stares at the front door for a while before Thorn nudges her.

“Hayes is waiting for us,” Vik says and we walk through the doors.

“He’s in an interrogation room. We’ve already taken his statement. We will have more questions later, but we are letting him have a break so you can talk to him,” Hayes says to Briar.

“Thank you,” she whispers.

“The rest of you can watch in the observation room,” Hayes shows us to the room. Lane is sitting in the other room with cuffs on, his head on the table. I’m seeing a much different side to the usually cocky asshole that I’ve dealt with in the past.

Briar opens the door and steps in, taking a seat across from him. He doesn’t even move until she speaks.

“Lennon,” she says so softly but he hears it and his head pops up.

“What are you doing here?”

“I came to talk to you,” she says.

“Why?”

“Because I remember,” she says. I watch a tear slip out of Lane’s eye and I hear Thorn sniff. I’m watching a giant tumble to the ground. Lane has feelings.
