I just feel like this is all moving too fast and I’m getting whiplash from it. We’ve only been together a couple of months and now in like a week I’ll be married. I need to stop and think. I need to talk to Holden.

“What is everyone going to do tonight?” Tristan asks.

“Tana and I are going to see a show,” Viktor says.

“Piper and I are going to the High Roller with Remo and Thorn,” Caleb states.

“I’m going to walk the Strip with Dante,” Gwen says.

“What about you, Kingston?” Tristan asks.

“I think I’ll head to bed early,” he says, “Briar can do whatever she wants, she hasn’t seen much of Vegas.”

“I think I’ll walk the Strip and take in the fountains,” I say with a smile as King squeezes my hand.

“You can always come with us,” Piper says.

“Thanks, but you guys go have fun,” I say and then nod. I watch everyone walk off before Kingston turns to me.

“Will you be okay without me?” I ask Kingston.

“Yeah, go have fun. I’ll see you when you get back. You’ve been cooped up in that room for a long time due to the whole Lane shit.”

“Thank you. I won’t be long,” I say, kissing his cheek.

“I love you,” he says before heading for the elevators.

When the doors close, I feel him- Holden.

“We need to talk,” I say.

“I don’t disagree,” he nods.

Holden

I stayed behind after everyone left, knowing she wanted to talk.

“Let’s head out to the Strip. We can walk and talk,” I say.

“Can we stop at the M & M store? I want some chocolate,” she smiles at me and I chuckle.

“I’m like the others, forgetting you haven’t been able to explore,” I say.

“I’m not complaining, but if we’re going to walk and talk, I want to enjoy what Vegas has to offer,” she says.

“Whatever you say, baby,” I say, letting the pet name roll off my tongue. It feels so right.

Not realizing it, I take her hand in mine. She doesn’t pull back. We walk in silence for a bit, stopping in front of the M & M store.

“So….” I start but not finding the words to finish my thought.

“So….” She does the same.

“Getting married in a week?”

“I guess so,” she says, though it sounds sad.

“I guess so,” I nod. It angers me that she is, though I don’t have the right to be.
