“Hey,” Briar waves at me.

“Hey, I was going to grab a coffee. You want to join me?” I ask her.

“Sure, what about your recruits?” She points at the guys.

“Tristan, run the drills again, in order,” I yell out.

“Got it, Coach,” Tristan salutes him.

“I see,” she smiles.

We walk across the street and she waves at Noelle before taking a seat.

“Go and find a seat, I know what you want.” I smile as Briar takes a seat at the back of the café. I turn and smile at Noelle.

“Let me guess, mint chocolate latte and black coffee,” she states, and I just laugh.

“Yep.”

“Coming right up,” Noelle says.

Out of the corner of my eye I see Lane standing across the street watching us. Weird.

What is wrong with that guy lately?

“Here you go,” Noelle says as she hands me two cups.

“Thanks,” I smile at her and turn for the table.

I hand her the cup of her favorite coffee and she smiles at me.

“I was wondering if you and Thorn could stay at my house tonight? I’ll grill and we could swim,” I say.

“Sure.” She doesn’t even hesitate.

“I wanted to take you guys somewhere tomorrow,” I reply.

“Where?” she asks.

“It’s a surprise,” I wink at her.

“I work today, but I can come over after. I’ll have to stop by the apartment and grab some clothes,” she starts.

“Thorn is with me, we can stop by and he can grab some of your things,” I hazard.

“Okay. If that’s not out of the way.”

“Not at all. Just come over after work,” I say.

“Sounds good.”

We finish our coffees and I head back to the gym and she heads to work.

Briar

It’s not very busy at work and I step outside to breathe when Thorn appears.
