I reach for her hand, “You’re all I need.”

“Gross, take it to your room,” Thorn whines, causing us to laugh as I pull her into my lap.

I’m just glad I could give them a good Christmas and many more to come if she says yes.

“Thorn, you can order lunch for us today,” I tell him, and he runs to the phone to call as I kiss my girlfriend.

I pour three more glasses of champagne, “To you, Briar, and Thorn.”

“No, Kingston. To you. You did all of this for us, and I really don’t know how to thank you properly,” she gushes.

“You don’t have to thank me at all. I wanted to do it. So, how about to us?”

“To us,” she echoes, and Thorn agrees.

“I texted the others asking them to come over,” Thorn says after setting his glass down.

“That’s fine, we can go swimming,” I pull Briar close.

“Cool,” Thorn goes back to the living room to flip through the channels, wait for lunch, and the guys.

“Sweetheart?” I am going to do this. I was going to wait, but I can’t.

“Yes?” She puts a plate down on the cart and faces me.

“I want to ask you something. I wanted to wait, Thorn even helped me plan it, but I can’t wait,” I stammer over my words.

“Dude,” Thorn yells from the living room, “just do it.”

Briar snorts and I pull her out to the balcony, which is decorated with lights and though it’s daytime, it still sparkles.

I drop to one knee and pull out the box with the ring in it and hope for the best.
