“Yeah, you live in the barn and get good food and company with some sarcasm thrown in.” Shane pulls him into a headlock.

“He got you.” Axel laughs, running off to the barn to grab the net and poles.

“Yeah, yeah. What do I get tonight?” Silas asks.

Shane ticks the list off on his fingers. “Bacon-wrapped asparagus, oysters, shrimp, corn.”

“You had me at bacon.” Silas grins as he holds up his hands in the shape of a heart.

“I know, buddy, I know,” Shane says as we head toward the back of the yard.

“You think this is a good place?” Austin asks, taking in the area.

“Yeah.” I incline my head. “It already has a muddy look to it.”

“Let’s get to it.” Shane claps his hands, gathering everyone together to get the ball rolling.

And it doesn’t take long to put up the net.

“Get showered and changed,” Shane suggests, “then we can hang out on the porch until it’s dinner time.”

“Can we use the showers in Ever’s room?” Axel asks.

“Yeah,” I tell him. “See you guys in a bit.”

Afton follows Shane and me up to his room.

“Who goes first?” Afton asks.

“We all go.” Shane smiles wickedly.

“Huh?”

“His shower is huge,” I translate.

Shane grins. “Just shower, though.”

“I think he just wants to see me naked.” Afton smirks.

“Actually, it’s me,” I say with a wink. This will be a big step.

“Last one in gets the cold water.” Shane takes his shirt off and runs toward the shower.

“He’s lying, there’s no cold water.” I snort, and it turns into a cough when Afton takes off his shirt.

“Fuck me,” I mutter.

“Hopefully, someday.” He smirks as he grabs my hand.

Well, then.
