“Should we wrap up the cookies?” Axel asks.

“I don’t think you can do that without snacking, and they’re for the kids,” I reply with an amused expression.

“I’m hungry,” he complains.

“One cookie for now.” Shane smirks, moving to help us round up the desserts.

“Good man.” Axel laughs as we box up the cookies and brownies.

“Do you think Harvey is okay?” Afton asks.

“He’s fine.” I snort.

“Kids will feed him all day,” Shane adds. “He’s living the life.”

“Wish someone would feed me all day.” Axel mock-pouts.

“You live in the barn, asshole. You can come over here anytime,” Shane points out.

Smirking, Axel punches his brother in the arm playfully. “I’m his favorite.”

I just giggle.

“See,” he says, “Snow gets it.”

Shane shakes his head. “Let’s get a move on.”

I feel so much better after this morning.
