She was whining.

I could deny her nothing. I drove my fangs into the column of her neck, and she jerked sharply in my arms. I felt a searing pain in my own neck through our half bond, and then a rush of liquid pleasure.

My fingers were buried inside her—I don’t remember doing that. Her core gripped me tight. Her mental voice was silent as my essence poured into her body, marking her, branding her as mine and mine alone.

I felt her pleasure as if it were my own, sending tinder sparks through me. My thighs quivered as gasping into her throat.

She didn’t breathe for so long that my lungs started screaming.

Then her breath tumbled out of her, fast and hard, as she rode out the last of her orgasm.

I fell against her, panting, my body drained of energy so thoroughly I could barely keep my eyes open. I felt her glow seep into my skin, the stretch of her languorous limbs under me making me feel satisfied in ways I never knew I could. She hummed in contentment and I felt it everywhere.

She was everything I never let myself dream about. Never let myself want.

I felt her stiffen under me and I shifted my weight to the mattress, thinking I was getting too heavy. But when she turned to me, clinging, her eyes were sparkling with unshed tears, even though her lips were curled in a quivering smile.

“I heard that,” she said, her voice reverent. “I heard what you said, in my head.”

A complete bond. My heart thudded loudly in my ears as I crushed her to me, plastering her body against mine. I’d always been able to feel her mind, her emotions, her energy, and now she could finally feel mine.

Joy ran in an endless loop between us, swirling, gaining traction like an unstoppable asteroid. She laughed, tears flitting down her cheeks, and I kissed them away, holding her close.
