The third and the final day of the Conference finally ends and I don’t see Aarav at all today which means either he has gone back to Mumbai or he is busy with something else that he had to skip the last day of the conference. To be honest, for some reason I know he was here for me in the first place and not the conference so he missing it today makes me wonder why. Is his daughter okay? I keep my fingers crossed throughout my way to the hotel, making a mental note to check at the reception if Aarav Raichand had checked out already. My flight is tomorrow afternoon which means I also have some time tonight to enjoy myself without any burden of work or other stress.

As soon as I enter the hotel, I head to the reception desk.

“Hello Ma’am, how can I help you?”

“Can you tell me if Aarav Raichand has checked out?”

“He hasn’t.”

The response is directly from the man himself. Oh No. This is not good. He shouldn’t have heard me asking about his whereabouts.

I turn around, keeping my face stern but his eyes sparkle with delight.

“Missing me?”

“Oh please,” I roll my eyes. “You didn’t attend the conference today. That’s why I..”

“I didn’t know you noticed me too in that conference,” he steps ahead and my body language weakens. He’s always so intimidating that it becomes hard to flaunt my arrogance before him.

“You are the only man who bothers me so much these days. Why wouldn’t I notice you, Mr. Raichand?”

“Stop calling me so formally. Doesn't suit you Ja..” he pauses as I frown. “…Khushi. Doesn't suit you.”

“And tailing me everywhere knowing very well I belong to some other man, doesn't suit you, Aarav. You have a daughter for god’s sake. What kind of example are you setting for her?”

His fingers clench.

“I am chasing the woman who I know is my daughter’s mother, to bring her back into our lives. I am surely setting a fine example on the kiddo, don’t you think?”

Damn hell! He knows how to tweak my words.

“Keep chasing then until you realize you were wrong the whole time. Now excuse me.”

I make my way to the Hotel's tiny jewelry store on the ground floor. This store has been on my mind ever since I checked in here, and I had planned to buy some items for myself. Perhaps a bracelet or a necklace with a pendant. Fortunately, Aarav isn't following me here. After nearly thirty minutes, I decide to purchase a delicate gold-plated chain with a heart pendant at its center. It's stunning, and the instant I saw it, I knew it was the one. When I head to the cashier for the payment, Aarav stops me again.

“Buy something else. Gold doesn't suit you.”

“God. Give me a break. I am not going to buy based on your choices. Stop interfering in my life and this is the last time I am warning you. Stay away from me.”

Pushing him away, I head to the cashier, settle the bill and march out.

“Khushi wait.” Aarav follows me to the elevator and I know it’s going to be one hell of a ride to my floor with Aarav Raichand beside me.

As soon as I stop at the elevator, he grabs my elbow and turns me around to face him.

“You are seriously allergic to gold. Don’t wear it. You get rashes all over your body and they don’t go away that easily. I know it.”

My head spins at his demand.

“You don’t want to believe you are Jhanvi, fine.” He continues. “But don’t play with your body. Please. It’s a request.”

The concern in his eyes is really something that wants me to believe everything he is telling me right now. But this has to stop. The only person I am thinking about these days is Aarav and it is not going to end up good, I have a feeling.

“You don’t want me to wear it?” I ask, yanking my arm away. He shakes his head. “Then don’t follow me anymore. Just leave.”

His expressions darken, gaze hardens indicating to me that he didn’t like my condition but Aarav doesn't argue. Three seconds is all he takes to rethink and walk away from me. Finally, he’s gone. Though I know it is only for this moment. Aarav Raichand is not going to give up on chasing me ever.
