Yasmine moved to rise.

“That includes you,” he whispered to her.

She lowered herself back down, counting her breaths and trying to remain calm. She was totally out of her element here.

When the only ones in the room were Kreed, Yasmine and the kids, Kreed rose to his feet.

“Pia,” he said, “meet me over by the windows for a moment.”

Pia scrambled out of the loveseat to follow him.

Yasmine watched as he knelt and whispered something in his daughter’s ear.

Her little face split into a gigantic smile and she began jumping up and down.

“Okay,” Kreed said. “We have a question for you, Yasmine, all three of us.”

“Yes?” she said, feeling her heart flutter in anticipation.

But surely the question couldn’t be what she thought, what she hoped…

Then Kreed was down in front of her on one knee, holding out his hand for hers.

“Yasmine Hall, will you be my wife?”

She sobbed with joy, but she had to check with each child first.

“Is this what you want?” she asked. “All of you?”

“Yes,” Jax said with a proud smile. “I was the first to know. We talked about it while we were sketching out the plans for the mural.”

“Pia?” Yasmine sobbed.

But the little girl ran to her instead of answering and climbed into her lap, burying her little face in her neck.

“Yes,” Pia whispered.

“Oh,” Yasmine said, overwhelmed with a wave of love so intense she could hardly breathe.

“Now you say it, too,” Pia whispered. “You have to say yes.”

“Yes,” she gasped, finally meeting Kreed’s intense azure eyes and slipping her hand into his. “A thousand times yes.”
