Well,she was too late for that. But Yasmine had promised she would stay until the replacement arrived.
Three days.
So that was how long he had to prove to her that he wasn’t a monster, and that this was where she belonged.
It might seem impossible, but he hadn’t become the first Thyphian elected leader of a planet other than Thyphia by giving up easily.
He just had to make a plan to get her to realize she wanted to stay.
He strode out of her room and back toward his study as he turned it over in his mind.
As far as Ba’sh was concerned, the children were the best part of her being here. She obviously enjoyed their company, and they adored her.
And naturally, she was very angry with Ba’sh.
Maybe if he could just stay out of her way and make sure she had whatever she wanted for the kids, she would change her mind for their sake.
His heart twinged at the idea of what he had lost for himself. Now that he knew what she had done wasn’t some wild publicity stunt designed to entrap him, he was thinking back to last night, when he had tasted heaven in her arms.
But he had ruined it with his quick temper, and the mindless animal pain he felt every time he was reminded that he had lost Breeta.
He looked again at the headpiece. He obviously wasn’t ready to move on. The best thing he could do would be to forget he had ever touched Yasmine.
Sacrificing his selfish desires for Pia and Jax’s sake was his privilege as their father. And this whole situation was his own fault. He would never have jumped to conclusions about what she had done today if he hadn’t had her in his bed last night.
He had been foolish to do anything that would risk his family’s happiness.
Ba’sh opened the safe in his study and placed the headpiece gently inside.
