As the crew cleaned up, the kids were having a snack by the fountain.

All in all, it had gone better than Yasmine expected. There were photographers in addition to Graace’s crew. It was hard not to notice Brytt Tommen among them, now that she knew the journalist was prone to posting fear mongering statements.

But she was pretty sure she hadn’t said anything he could twist around. And the atmosphere in the meadow was busy but calm.

“Pia,” Jax’s panicked voice cut through the buzz of workers chatting.

Yasmine sprinted for Jax, nearly tripping over a looped cord on the grass.

“What’s going on?” she asked him, her eyes scanning the fountain area for his sister.

“She was right here,” he said. “I looked down at my sandwich for like one second, and she just disappeared.”
