“Us too,” I told her.
“Hey, what are you up to tomorrow?” Keisha asked. “We’re both off, so we’re doing a day at the lake.”
Gemma looked at me before answering. “We haven’t decided.”
Keisha looked curiously at me and then back to Gemma. I wasn’t sure what that meant.
“Gem, you want to have a day at the lake? I’m game,” I said.
Gemma clapped her hands excitedly. “Okay! We can go out on the boat later.”
“Whatever you want.”
“We’ll see you tomorrow, then!” Harper said. “We gotta get going.”
We waved goodbye to them, and then the server brought over our check. Gemma grabbed it from out of my hands and wouldn’t let me pay. She insisted on going out for dinner, so I’d let that slide. For now.
We didn’t linger at the restaurant for too much longer. When we got back to the cabin, Gemma put on music and cleaned up the kitchen while I got my laptop out and started working on her logo. I was loving this design for her shop. It fit her personality, especially if you knew Gemma was tattooed with flowers on her body. Tattoos I loved to kiss one by one.
“Is that the final design?” she asked when she came back into the living room.
“Not finished yet. I want to tinker some more.”
“Can I see it again?”
“Nope.”
She pouted.
I shook my head and lifted her up in my arms. “Nope, that’s not gonna work on me tonight. Let’s go to bed.”
We didn’t even have sex when we crawled into the bed together. We were both wiped out from our adventure today. Instead, we lay in bed together, watching something random on TV.
I shouldn’t have brought her up here with me. We should have gone to bed separately. Lying in bed watching trashy tv together was something you did with your partner, not the woman you said you couldn’t commit to and agreed to have a vacation fling with.
Was I a complete dumbass for doing this?
“Felix?” she asked.
“Hmm?” I murmured and stroked her hair.
“Thanks for appeasing me today.”
“It was fun.”
She smiled up at me and gave me a sweet kiss goodnight. I turned off the TV and shut the light off. I rolled her onto her side and held her tight against my chest as we fell asleep.
I thought I could try with Gemma. Maybe I could give her and Skye the time they both needed.
