I block and delete his number. If Jarred ever shows up, I can call the police. I don’t need Nate Walker in my life.

When I wake in the morning, I feel renewed. It’s as if a good night’s sleep was all I needed to feel better. Well, that and blocking and deleting Nate from my life. I don’t need to worry about hearing from him ever again. The quick fling I had can be left in my past, and I can move on.

It’s a great day. The sun is shining as I drive Noah to school, and the view on my way to work is a sight to behold. It reminds me how lucky I am to live in such a beautiful place and how fortunate I am to have a successful business, caring friends, and a supportive mom to help me raise my son. I truly am blessed, and unlike yesterday, I have an overwhelming feeling of joy.

That joyful feeling continues into my workday. Some of my regular customers are a delight to chat with and help this Thursday go by quickly. It’s a great day until about five minutes before it’s time for me to go home.

That’s when I think I see a ghost.

I can’t believe my eyes.

Jarred Feldman is here in The Cellar.
