“That’s why, Letty. Dinner is never going to be just dinner. I know that, and if you don’t, that’s even more dangerous.”

He takes a step back, chest heaving and eyes dark and glazed over.

“That was…wow.” My own chest is heaving as heavy breaths rush from my body. I’m shaking. Perspiring a little.

“Pastor is going to see us,” I say it but at this moment in time, I really don’t care.

“Get in the car, Letty.”

His jaw clenches tight, and he looks almost angry, but I can tell that he’s still hard behind his zipper.

“What about dinner?”

“A very bad idea,” he growls. “But I’ll think about it. Now, get in the damn car.”

I smile. It’s not a flat-out rejection but an open door.

“Good night, Shades. See you tomorrow.”

“Yeah, tomorrow,” he grunts and shuts the door as soon as I sit behind the steering wheel. His steely gaze watches me until I leave the church parking lot.

Body humming and on fire for the first time in my life, I should be ashamed, disgusted with myself, but I’m not. My underwear is soaking wet, and I can’t wait to get home and take care of this ache in my lady parts.

I smile like a fool, and it doesn’t leave my face the entire drive home.
