“You have to go?” Letty says behind me.
“I do, but Ace is sending someone to keep an eye on you and the house. Don’t leave the house, Letty, and if you have to, don’t leave the house without whoever shows up.”
She nods. “I won’t leave. I promise.”
“Good.” I cross the room and kiss her softly and she leans into the kiss, giving me her weight.
“Fuck,” I growl and pull back. “I have to go, beautiful lady.”
She nods. “I know. I hate it, and I’m not ready for this little bubble to burst, but I know.”
I nod and wrap my arms around her. “Thank you.”
“For?”
“Not asking questions I can’t answer.” I kiss her again just as the sound of a motorcycle engine grows closer and closer. “That’s your security detail.”
She smiles and nods. “Be safe, Shades.”
“Always,” I assure her, and with one final, lingering kiss, I head outside and meet Jordi in the driveway. “Keep an eye on her. A close eye, Jordi.”
“You got it, man.” With a quick fist bump and a look back, I jump on my bike and haul ass back to the clubhouse.
Ace stands as soon as I walk inside the clubhouse, a dark scowl on his face. “The money is at one of their stash houses. Wild Man says it’s under surveillance, but they all left about twenty minutes ago. This is the time to get it back.”
I nod. “Let’s do it,” I agree and clap my hands together, shoving away all thoughts of Letty because now was the time for business. Club business.
“Just me and you?”
Ace nods. “Just us and Wild Man watching digitally.”
I nod and we make our way to the bikes. “Don’t you think it’s odd that they left one of their stash houses abandoned?”
Ace shrugs. “No one ever accused these assholes of being smart.”
“Okay, but I’m grabbing another gun just to be sure.” I jog back inside the clubhouse and return with three more guns. And a knife. “Which one do you want?”
“The forty,” Ace answers around a smile and holds his hand out for the Glock. “So, the Church Girl, huh?”
“Her name is Letty, and we’re not talking about that right now.” I jump on my bike and start the engine. “Let’s go get our cash back. And fuck some shit up.”
Ace nods. “Oh, some shit will definitely get fucked up. But we get the money first.”
Ace and I get on the road, and I get a whiff of Letty’s pussy lingering on my face. Time to get business taken care of so I can get back to my woman.
