Ace: You liked that, huh? I had to find the most romantic word I could think of. I’m not as good at that shit as Joel. And yes, clearly, I am madly, deeply, endlessly, hopelessly in love with you. MARRY ME?!
Me: :D You already know my answer. Thanks for the note. Seriously. It made me smile. I notice it said #1. Does that mean there will be more?
Ace: I’m glad it made you smile. There may be more, but the time and location will be a surprise. Now get to class. See you soon.
Me: Can’t wait :)
I grab the books I need and close my locker, then I read the note again. And I get a brilliant idea. I head to my classroom and slide into my seat. Thankfully, there’s a couple of minutes to spare, so I text Trevor.
Me: I have the perfect idea!
Trev: TELL ME!
Me: She’s not expecting you to formally ask, right?
Trev: No, she was matching her dress to my outfit a month ago.
Me: Perfect. Valentine’s scavenger hunt using love notes. More details later.
Trev: I’m intrigued. Definitely sounds romantic.
Me: Well, you can thank A. He inspired the idea. Gotta go. Talk later.
I’m about to put my phone away when I see a text pop up from Nick.
Nick: English wing, between 7th and 8th. Bring your A game.
I roll my eyes, but he did pay me forty bucks after all.
Me: I’ll be there.
I put my phone away and try to pay attention in class, but I’m zoning out thinking about this romantic scavenger hunt for Sarah. Funny that I was over this whole week a few hours ago and now I’ve become a walking embodiment of it.
After class, I go fulfill my duties with Nick. Thankfully, it works. I really didn’t want to listen to him harass me for the rest of the week.
This week has been pretty perfect so far. Aaron is an amazing fake boyfriend and I’m kinda jealous of whoever he ends up dating next, because he’s sweet and romantic as hell.
Over the last two days, he’s left me four love notes. The first one was in my locker. The second was taped to a cup of coffee he brought me the next morning and said…
