They clung to each other, riding out the waves together,
crashing and trembling, sighing, whimpering, panting.
Dani kissed her hard, lingering over her lips, savoring them
like Emily was a drink. Emily felt exotic. She felt exhausted.
She felt entirely exhilarated. She was still trembling. She
wasn’t sure if she’d ever stop.
She lay still until Dani kissed her way down her neck, and
slowly unwound herself to remove the toy. Emily felt
deliciously sore after, and she clung to Dani, winding their
legs together, twisting until she was in Dani’s arms.
It took Dani a minute, but then her arms folded over Emily,
and she held her while their breathing turned into a steadier
rhythm, until their racing hearts both calmed.
“That was…wow,” Emily whispered. She bit back a laugh
but let out a small giggle. “Thank you. I’ve never experienced
anything like that.”
Dani stroked her hair, remaining quiet. Emily couldn’t
imagine what was going through her mind. She wanted to talk
about the no strings thing, about their agreement, but bringing
that in right now just felt wrong. This was right. She was so
sure of it, sure as she’d never been sure of anything in her life.
She was sure something had changed, was changing. This
wasn’t just an agreement anymore, and what they were doing
wasn’t just sex. It wasn’t just their bodies. It was something
more.
She didn’t want to leave Dani. She didn’t want this to end.
She decided right then, as their breathing evened out further,
that she wasn’t going to leave. Their agreement might end, but
they didn’t have to. It didn’t have to continue to be fake. This
wasn’t fake. This was so very real. She wasn’t sure how Dani
