“Nope. Not the time nor the place,” I answer.

“Haisley, you’re going to have to discuss this with me at some point.”

“I know, and we’ll do that when we’re home,” I insist.

“Are you afraid?” she questions.

“No. He’s harmless. He’s a bag of hot air. We’ve known many men like him before. I’m fairly sure the crew will not allow him anywhere near me.” I motion to the big burly men in front of us. Elle giggles as I place my earbuds in and shut my eyes.

I’m happy we don’t have to report for Monday morning meeting tomorrow. Hunter decided to stay another day in California and rescheduled for Tuesday. In all honesty, we all have the day off. The haulers won’t be back until Wednesday at the earliest.

My team, though, has another few weeks off as we have no sponsorship for the fourth race in Alabama. Of course, another thing Bud had something to say about. Elle continued to try and secure sponsorship up until this weekend. But it’s okay. We’re going to press on and come back strong.
