“It is okay, Brax. You can tell us anything,” Harper assured, our brothers and sisters confirming her words.

Already guessing what I was about to say, Asher gave me an encouraging nod, and I swallowed.

“I am your late king and queen’s secret mission,” I confessed. “The reason Khayden and Keira’s Skystorm signed theblood oath, and left to the Mirror World that tragic day…

My true name is Braxton Skystorm, and I am the Harbinger of Justice’s son.”

Astounded gasps echoed from Harrison, Finn, Islay, Hannah, and even Fletcher, while Harper, Elijah, and Arlo gawked at me like I had just grown a second head. Asher just grinned widely at me, proud that I was finally owning my truth for all to see.

“That is not all,” I continued before any questions could surface. “My father used Dragon blood to heal himself so my mom could get pregnant. Tharion’s blood to be exact. As a result, I am not only Soulris, but Dragon as well. I am part of you, but part of them too.”

“That is why you have such a strange connection to the Dragons?” Asher questioned, the wheels turning in his head.

“Yes. That is what calls them to me. I am part of their family, thanks to Tharion’s essence thriving inside me. I can not only link with them but feel their emotions and access their minds. I see their thoughts and memories, and I can now hear them actually talking to me. Because they can heal each other, I can heal them and be healed by them. Also, it was my Dragon side that helped me survive the duel with Lachlan…”

“Can you transform into a Dragon too?” Arlo asked excitedly, her eyes begging me to say yes.

“No.” I frowned at that. “I don’t think so… Not that I know of?”

“He was still in his mother’s belly when he called the first Dragon to us,” Imogen offered, revealing a part of the story I’d only recently learned from Mom’s letter. “Khayden had a special way with those creatures, but Braxton…” She shook her head like she was reliving it all. “He called five Dragons to his mother’s side without even being born,” she confessed, shocking us all.

“Dad’s Dragons,” I breathed, remembering my mom mentioned their names in the letter. I had even met one of them during my second visit to theLake of Tranquility. Storm, Tharion’s mate. “Icalled them to us?”

“You did,” Imogen confirmed, pride shining in her gaze. “Even then you were powerful, honey.”

“The fruit of your wombis a new reason for us to fight…”Willow’s stunned whisper echoed the accord’s words, telling me Evie had already shown it to her—probably, after she left Star’s side. “That is why the Harbinger had no choice but to leave us.” Her eyes searched mine, tears falling as she blinked. “You were his son. Hisonlyson, and you had powers… Youhadto live.”

“Dragon powers that would change everything inourfavor, honey. Khaydenneededto take his son and wife away,” Imogen emphasized. “If the Warlock King had found out about him and syphoned his ability, we would have all died. Can you even imagine what he would do with the power to connect and commandallDragons?”

The intensity in her gaze said Willow and the others didn’t truly realize the half of why my survival was so important to this world yet, though I didn’t think it would help, not when she was hurting like this. Imogen’s attention shifted to me.

“Braxton, you are the reason Azazel was on our side to begin with. Something inside you called to him, and he fought for us because of you. Azazel fought until he couldn’t anymore. Until the choice was taken from him…”

Placing a hand on my shoulder, she offered me a small smile.

“The powers you had, even in your mother’s belly… I had never seen anything like it, but something tells me I am about to see it again.”

No pressure.

Though she didn’t intend for it, the weight of her words settled on my shoulders, and I turned to my brothers and sisters, kind of lost in the haze of what was to come. They had no idea how messed up my secret truly was.

“There is something else you should—”

“Braxton,” Kingston’s warning interrupted my words, but I shook my head.

“No more lies. Not to them.”

“What is it?” Asher asked, worry clouding his features—he was such an honest friend.

“I have chosen Braxton as my mate,” Evie announced before I could speak, holding my hand in hers and squeezing. Like Kingston, fear for me shone in her eyes, and it hurt me that I was the cause of their anxiety. “We have fallen in love with each other and decided to pair.”

Shock swiftly transformed into joy on the faces of those around us. Smiles replaced the surprise, and they began to congratulate us.

“It figures the only one worthy enough for our soon-to-be queen, would be the Harbinger of Justice’s son.” Harrison mock-huffed, crossing his arms over his chest in protest and making everyone chuckle. “I mean, I was available. But did she ask me? No. I’m clearly the better option of the two, but fine.”

Our laughter joined the others’ as he wickedly grinned. Even the chief shook his head, repressing a smile. Harrison was a serious flirt. The unabashed Casanova. And my brother… of course he had to give me a hard time.

“Congratulations, Brother, Princess” Harrison finally added. “And thank you for telling us the truth.”
