His face softened as he took in her flushed cheeks, her look of glory.
“That was even better than I imagined!”
Her exclamation and expression were so enthusiastic, so sweet, he couldn’t help but smile.
He nipped her shoulder before burying his face against her neck, sagging with relief at her statement even as he murmured agreement.
“At this moment, I can say that whatever happens, this was worth it,” she shared with what sounded like awed certainty.
“Stay with me through the night.” He’d attempted to suffuse his words with authority, but he heard the supplication in his deep voice.
Stay with me. Stay.
She nodded, pressing a kiss to the side of his head.
The air drained from his lungs.
