I frowned. “Ready for it to be over. Gladys keeps waving at me and pointing to Trina. The poor girl looks miserable. Honestly, I’m not sure if it’ll be better or worse to be won by one of Monica’s friends who are actually interested. At least with Trina, we’d both be just enduring the time and ready for it to end.”
Jake laughed. “Maybe one of Monica’s friends will be just what you need to get you out of this funk.”
I shook my head. “Nah. I’m good. The only one I want is Krystal.”
Jake raised his eyebrows. “That’s a pretty firm statement.”
I nodded. “Yeah. I figured some things out last night. I’m not giving up on her.”
“Good for you, man. I hope it works out.”
So did I. Because not being with Krystal wasn’t an option I wanted to consider anymore.
