“Oh my god,” she squealed, and Rose wanted to join her except shock had stolen her words. What on Earth was happening?
“I had planned on doing this later on.” Katie winked as she slid out a ring and Maia practically vibrated with excitement as Cara started to cry and the paparazzi slowed down to photograph this unfolding spectacle. “But I suppose this way we’ll have plenty of photos to remember this moment.” Katie shot her a look. “What are you still doing here?”
Rose blinked, coming back to herself as she tugged on Maia’s arm, hurrying them away as the press focused solely on the two women now crying and kissing as Cara admired a large diamond on her finger.
“Did that just happen?” she said, slightly dazed.
“Unless we just shared a fever dream,” Maia grinned, “yes.”
They were back in the car within minutes and still giggling like teenagers as Rose pulled out her phone and shot off a combined thank-you-congratulations text to Katie and Cara.
“You know, life with you never gets boring, Ro.”
“Thank you?”
“You’re welcome.” Maia grinned and rested her head on Rose’s shoulder as they made their way home.
“I think that’s the first shopping trip I’ve ever done where I’ve not bought anything.”
“Oh I don’t know, you seemed pretty tempted by the purple dildo. Or has Blake ruined you for all other men now?” Maia laughed as Rose swatted at her.
“Do not even,” Rose warned and continued scrolling on her phone, pleased when she didn’t find any photos of her holding a dildo on the gossip sites yet. Though it was probably only a matter of time.
