I jerk and thrash, trying to loosen the straps digging into my wrists. “Let me fucking go!” I scream. After a few minutes of trying to escape, I finally give up, realizing it’s no use. Instead, I put all my attention on the handsome monsters in front of me.

Ace has his arms crossed over his chest like he’s got all the time in the world, Blais is nonchalantly picking at his nails with a knife, and Theon is snarling at me.

“Let me go,” I demand.

Ace steps forward, piercing me with his emerald green eyes. “Why would we do that, Agent Stone?” He smirks.

It all comes back to me—the drinks, the discussion about Novak, Ace drugging me. They know exactly who I am.

Fuckity fuck, fuck. Shit. This is bad.

I almost wish my dream about Tommy was true and I was back there instead. At least I’d be free.

Why the fuck would they drug me and strap me to a table? The lengths they’ve gone to to get me out of their hair only means they have something to hide. Something they don’t want me meddling around in.

I look to Blais, hoping he’ll give me an answer. He seems like the nicest of the three so I’ll take my shot with him.

“Where am I?” I ask.

Ace moves toward me. “We’ll be asking the questions here, temptress,” he growls.

“Then fucking ask them and let me go.”

Theon’s dark laugh echoes off the concrete walls. “You think we’d let you go when you’re trying to destroy everything we’ve worked for, princess?” he taunts.

I should be focused on what he just accused me of, but the only word I heard of that is the one that haunts my dreams.

“Don’t fucking call me that,” I snarl. The biggest mistake of my life called me princess, and just hearing the word makes me fucking sick.

“Oh, Theon. It looks like you really struck a nerve,” Ace teases. His taunting eyes are filled with so much humor, I can’t wait to knock that fucking look off his face.

“Blais, please. Please help me,” I beg. I hate begging, but it’s the only weapon in my disposal right now, so I’ll get over my pride. He stills but doesn’t look up from his knife. He hasn’t looked me in the eyes once since I woke up.

“He’s not going to help you. In fact, he’s the one that’s going to cause you the most pain if you don’t talk,” Ace says, taking another step forward to where his arms are touching just below my breasts.

He’s so close to me that I could take him out with one carefully placed punch if I could just get my arm loose. I pull at the cuffs again, getting nowhere, unable to stop the frustrated growl that escapes. Maybe if he leans in closer, I can headbutt him and take a shot at his enormous ego. Might deflate his head a little.

He reaches out, running a finger from my neck down the middle of my breasts and down my stomach, until his hand falls to his side. “Now, you can save yourself the pain if you give us what we want,” he says in a low voice.

They know I’m FBI, but I don’t know what they think I know, so I decide to play dumb. Theon said I was trying to ruin something they’ve worked so hard for, but I legitimately have no idea what he’s referring to. “I don’t know what you’re talking about,” I cry, putting on the best scared face I have. It’s not completely a lie, but I don’t think it was believable.

Ace chuckles, slapping me across the face. My head jerks to the side and a stinging runs through my cheek from the impact.

“Fucker,” I growl. He’ll pay for that. No one fucking touches me like that without consequences.

“Don’t take us for fools. Tell us, Agent Stone, why were you undercover at Trinity?” Ace questions.

“Dancing, dumbass,” I taunt him.

Ace’s eyes flare at my sarcastic remark. I’m in no position to taunt him, but fuck it feels good seeing him get riled up.

He reaches back, holding out his hand, waiting for Blais to lay the knife in it. When it’s in his grip, the blade flies toward my right hand, causing my stomach to drop and my pulse to quicken. I can’t move so if he wants to cut me, there’s no way I can stop it.

I squeeze my eyes shut, bracing myself for the impact, but it never comes. I look at my wrist when the cold edge of the blade barely scrapes across it.

“Another answer like that, and it won’t be just a scare tactic next time.” Ace smiles, satisfied with my reaction to his threat.

Don’t let him get a reaction out of you. He’s testing you.
