Running his fingers up my thigh, he picks up some of the warm white liquid. “Taste what you do to me, temptress.” He wraps his arm around me, holding his drenched fingers in front of my lips.

“No.” My body defied me and came for him, but this is my choice. As much as I want to taste his arousal, I won’t give in.

“What was that, Zamira?” Ace growls, hating being told no.

“No, I wo—” Ace shoves his fingers into my mouth, shutting me up. His salty cum hits my tongue, making me want more. My mouth instinctively sucks the rest off his fingers.

“Good girl. Don’t ever tell me no again.”

Fuck you, Ace Lennox.

Without any fight left in me, I fall forward, my body slamming into the bed, unable to hold myself up right now. Standing, Ace tucks himself back into his jeans. I know what he’s going to say next so I beat him to it.

“I’ll show you where my stuff is… for a trade.”

His head tilts, his brows scrunching together. “I’m not making a fucking deal with you. You’re my captive. You’ll do what I say, so fucking tell me.”

I pull myself up, sitting on the edge of the bed, letting my slickness and his cum soak into the comforter. I narrow my eyes at him, and pull a childish move, knowing it will piss him off. Pinching my fingers together, I run them over my lips, pretending to zip them.

His fists clench at his sides as he growls at my defiance. The vein in this forehead pops even more.

“Tell me what your deal with Novak is and I’ll give you my laptop. Seems to me like we’re wanting the same man so why not work together?” I smirk.

“I don’t need your fucking help. We would’ve had him if it weren’t for you, so the way I see it is, you’re the downfall. We owe you nothing.”

“Okay. Let’s go then.” I stand, pulling my shorts and panties up. As much as I want to clean myself up right now, it doesn’t look like that’s an option.

“Zamira,” he growls. “Stop being so fucking stubborn and tell me.”

“Why? So you don’t have to hold up your end of the deal.”

“Don’t make me fucking kill you right here, temptress. Your little boyfriend outside would be so upset.” Of course it wouldn’t be Ace himself that’d be upset. That would be too much for him.

My heart aches at the thought of Blais hurting. Shit, I need to distance myself from him. I may have fucked up thinking it was a good idea to mess with his emotions, because now it’s getting to me too.

“You mean your brother? The one you love and protect?” I say, tilting my head. Ace stares at me, but his eyes don’t seem like he’s really looking at me. It looks like he’s thinking about what I just said. Whether he really would blindside Blais like that.

“As I’ve told you before, kill me if you want to. I’m not going to tell you anything unless I know you’re not going to screw me over. This is our time to work together. I know I’m your captive that you love to hurt andattemptto kill, but we both have our sights on Ross Novak and we could do it together.”

He doesn’t say anything, only clenching his fists by his side. He’s at war with himself over whether he should give in and trust me. “Let’s go or kill me, because you’re not getting my laptop without giving me a reason why you’re so interested in Novak.” His eyes darken and I sigh at his silence, moving toward the door.

“Stop,” he growls. “You have a deal. Only because of those two,” he says, pointing out the window. I look down to see Theon and Blais standing by the SUV. Blais is laughing at something and Theon’s smirking at him with his arms crossed over his chest. They look so happy. I fucking love Blais’ smile. Shit.

Turning my attention back to Ace, I straighten my shoulders, trying to radiate confidence. “Novak first.”

His jaw clenches, and his expression tells me he doesn’t want to do this at all. Running his fingers through his curly blond hair, he huffs in frustration. “Novak took something special from us, and now it’s time for him to pay up,” he grunts.

Us? What could Novak have taken from them? Honestly, if Novak is the guy that’s committing the crimes I’m investigating, it wouldn’t surprise me. “What did he take?” I ask.

Ace shakes his head and I can tell he’s shutting down. He’s done talking about anything personal with me. “Laptop, now.” It was small, but he gave me what I wanted, and I’m a woman of my word.

“Fine,” I huff, walking toward the entertainment center. Ace grabs my arm, stopping me before I can get there.

Stepping in front of me, he grabs his gun and pushes it in the back of his jeans. “Can’t let you get your murderous hands on this.”

I smirk at him. Smart man.

Slamming my shoulder into him, I push past and head for my hiding place. My hands grip the sides of the TV, twisting it around so I can get to the back. Chief had this made for me. The TV looks normal on the outside, but the inside is completely hollowed out, making room for my laptop, gun, and badge.
