Slick walked around his desk, pulling out a cigarette. "Rose should have told you that. She tried that tactic, and it cost her the job she loves. Maybe I should get her job with the band stripped as well. Maybe she will understand I'm not playing around."

Dylan froze. Did Rose lose her job at the school? No. That's not possible. She would have told him about that. But looking at Slick, he knew that it was possible. Slick was a slippery little fucker that could make anything happen. He wanted things done his way, and if not, you would pay.

"Rose didn't tell me anything," Dylan admitted. "I figured this out myself. You're a weaselly little man, and that means you make mistakes. Whatever you're planning with Rose, cancel them because they aren't happening."

Slick lit his cigarette, holding a steady glare at me. "My only mistake was letting you interfere in Jazzy's life. I should have gotten rid of you before. I won't be making that mistake again."

Dylan gripped his hands into fists. "I should have killed you after what you did to Jazzy. She was a young girl, and you sucked the life out of her. You destroyed what could have been the next big thing."

Slick snarled at him, and Dylan held his ground. He knew if he had tried to kill Slick after Jazzy, there were too many connections. There would be too much evidence that led to him. He couldn't make it happen back then.

But, now, Slick had gone too far. He'd fucked with his mate and, in turn, his future. He wasn't going to let him walk away scot-free. Not when he ruined things.

"You're going to pay for everything," Dylan said, ready to shift. Slick flicked his cigarette away, holding a mischievous grin now.

"You can try, but once I get you out of the way, Rose will have no choice but to sign the papers. And I'll have won once more."

Dylan shifted, no longer able to keep himself under control. His bones snapped, and he fought to get his clothes off in time. He shifted into a tiger, and he growled loudly. Slick shifted into a panther, a low growl escaping his mouth.

Dylan moved quickly, rushing forward and jumping toward Slick. But the panther moved quickly, and Dylan slammed into the desk, shoving it across the room into the wall. The entire room shook, and Slick growled louder behind him.

Dylan moved quickly, once more rushing toward him and jumping. This time, Slick wasn't quick enough, and Dylan bit into his shoulder, breaking the skin. Slick snarled, batting at Dylan and sending him flying.

Dylan hit the wall, and this time, the wall busted, and he fell into the next room. Slick moved, running at him.

Dylan moved in time as Slick rushed past him into the large table in what could only be a meeting room.

The panther slammed into the table, and Dylan moved, hopping on him and shoving his nails deep into the panther's skin. He pinned him, once more digging his teeth into the panther's neck. He could taste blood, and his anger grew. He was going to win this. Rose's life depended on it.

Slick's back legs kicked and sent Dylan across the room, slamming into the wall. A mirror shattered, and glass sprayed everywhere. They looked at each other, panting. Slick growled, and Dylan ran forward, sending them both soaring back into Slick's office.

They hit the ground, and Slick landed on him, biting into his shoulder. Pain radiated over Dylan's body, but he forced himself to move. He rolled his weight crushing Slick to the ground. He restrained him and roared, shaking the walls.

Slick's teeth snapped and missed Dylan by a hair, forcing Dylan to jump back. They panted once more, circling each other. They both growled low until Slick moved. And Dylan knew where he was aiming.

Slick jumped at his front paws, and Dylan moved sideways. Slick missed, and Dylan dove in while Slick tried to recalculate. He pinned him hard to the ground, the room filled with snarls and snapping of teeth.

He had him, and there was nowhere for Slick to move, no way for him to wiggle his way out of this. He could see the desperation in Slick's eyes. Slick knew he was done for.

Dylan pulled a paw up, pressing down onto Slick's neck, feeling the panther’s desperation to breathe. He watched, pressing more weight down.

He had to. He needed to protect Rose. Rose was his mate, and he wasn't letting this scumbag do anything more to her. He wasn't letting him win.

This was for Rose. This was for Jazzy. This was for all the future women he would fuck with and somehow destroy. This was for everyone.

He thought of Jazzy and all the life she should have still had in her. All the times, he should have stepped up and done something to help her. He didn't. Instead, everything got worse, and she died. He was making up for that now.

Slick thrashed, trying to breathe. Dylan growled and opened his mouth to make the kill. He was going to finally end this and make up for everything.

Just then, he heard the door to Slick's office open, and Rose stepped in. Her eyes widened in horror as she took the scene in. Dylan looked at her, shocked. Why was she here?

"Dylan, stop." Her voice shook as she took a few steps into the space, her dress swaying around her. "You can't kill him. You need to step away before you do more damage."

Dylan watched her and how her body shook in fear. He couldn't allow Slick to be free, though. Slick didn't deserve it. Slick would continue what he was doing, and more people would be harmed. He had to keep them safe.

He pressed harder onto his neck. Slick thrashed, and for a moment, Dylan wanted to smile. He was going to win.

"Dylan!" Her voice came out sharper, forcing Dylan to look at her once more, "Please. You can't kill him. You can't. You could hardly stand losing Jazzy, and that wasn't your fault. You can't kill him and walk around with that on your conscience. I know you can't."
