“I’ll have to climb between your legs for both of us to fit on.”

A giggle bubbles up from her lungs.

I give her a smirk. I probably could have said that better.

“Shut up,” I grumble as I start pushing her again. When the water is high enough, I jump on the board behind her and we both use our arms to paddle out.

She holds on tight as I push through a break in the waves. When we’re far enough out, I turn us around and keep an eye on the waves.

“Should I try to pop up if I think I can manage it?” She asks.

“Not this time. We’re too far out for that and tandem surfing can be harder than surfing on your own since I’ll be moving the board to keep my balance.”

She nods. “Okay. Be the board.”

I laugh and look over my shoulder to see a good swell headed our way. “Help me paddle,” I say as I lean down while trying to keep my face in the small of her back and not in her ass.

Mind on the waves, I tell myself.

I paddle faster to keep just ahead of the swell. I feel the change in the water as it crests behind me. I take a deep breath and pop up, smiling when the wave takes us in its hands, smooth and clean, no bumps.

Nita spreads her arms out as if she’s a flying fish gliding through the air. I smile down at her, but then am distracted by the curve of her hips. Her knees are bent, giving me a perfect view of the tiny scrap of material covering what I now know without a doubt is a bare pussy.

Fuck.

Distracted by her body, I lose my footing as we get closer to shore. Hoping she’ll be able to stay on the board, I bail off the side. Nita calls my name and her hand grasps my ankle. Her body tangles with mine as we both fall below the surface.

ChapterFour

Nita

When we get to shore, sputtering and laughing, I plop down and catch my breath. I got pounded by a few waves before I found my stride and was able to swim toward the shore. Way was there with me. He asked me if I wanted to ride on his board while he towed me in, but I shook my head.

I want to prove that I can wipe out and still get up and try again. Way was right though, I almost lost my swimsuit. I need one that connects behind my shoulders because the straps didn’t hold up through the header as we took off the surfboard.

“Come on,” he says as he holds out a hand to me. “Let’s go back to my place. I’ll make you some breakfast, give you some clothes to wear.”

“I brought my towel.” I walk up the beach and grab my towel and shoes. My key fob is still tucked into my shoe, which is a relief since the beach is a lot more crowded than when I arrived.

“Wrap it around yourself and we’ll head out,” Way says.

I slip into my shoes and wrap my towel around myself before following him to the parking lot. Way’s Jeep is parked right next to the path that leads from Ke Nui Rd to the beach. He clips his board to the rack attached to the roll bar, then turns back to me.

“Hop in.”

“I have my car,” I say as I point to my little hatchback.

“Where’re you gonna clip a board on that thing?”

I sigh. “It was cheaper to sell my car in Cali and buy a little car here than to ship it over. I didn’t think I’d need an SUV or anything to get around the island.”

“You can use my board for now, but if you take to this, you’ll need your own stick. You could store it at my house if you need to, but if you…”

“If I what?”

He frowns. “I was going to say if you go out on your own, but I don’t like the thought of you out on the swells by yourself.”

“I’m nowhere near ready for that.”
