He returned and led her to the small table set for dinner. “I asked the concierge at the Triton to arrange something special for us.” He held out a chair for her.

Cassie took a seat and inhaled deeply. “The Triton has one of the best chefs in Santorini.”

“Would you like more prosecco or something else?” he asked, browsing through an assortment of bottles in a cooler.

“Prosecco is fine.”

He refilled their glasses and joined her, then uncovered and arranged small dishes of marinated olives, sesame encrusted bread, and tzatziki. “Because your family is Greek, I asked the chef to make something that would be served in a Greek home.”

Cassie relaxed a bit more because the food was familiar, and he arranged it especially for her. “It smells wonderful.” There were braised lemon-chicken and roasted beets on a platter and a cake. “They even made portokalopita. My grandmother used to make that cake all the time.”

“How did you pronounce it?” His eyes went wide with interest.

Cassie turned to him and said,“Portokalopita.”

“Say it again,” he asked, never taking his eyes off her lips.

“Por-toh-kah-loh-pee-tah,” she repeated, slower this time. “It’s a traditional Greek orange phyllo cake.”

He leaned in, giving her a kiss on the cheek. “I can’t wait to get to dessert.”

She smiled, her mind racing with all the possibilities to come.

The sun had set, and tiny lights blinked on, illuminating the boat along the railing and within the interior. A few votive candles on the table enhanced the intimate setting. Their dinner had been delicious, and the conversation flowed easily about the Greek islands. He’d been here several times while sailing with friends. A man like him probably had lots of friends with expensive boats like this one and women in tiny bikinis competing for his attention. It didn’t trouble her, because tonight he was hers.

She placed the fork on her plate. “That was delicious.”

He held the bottle over her glass. “Would you like the last of the prosecco?”

“No, thanks.” She was tempted, but she wanted to be aware of everything that was going to happen.

Eros poured the rest in his glass, watching her closely.

Things were about to take a different direction. Her body buzzed with the need to touch him again. “Is this the same song as last night?”

“No.” He took her hand and lifted her to her feet. “Similar style but different musicians.”

“I like it. I couldn’t get that song out of my head.”

He took her in his arms and swayed back and forth, which was good because she was a total klutz at dancing. Being held by him made it easy to let go and allow him to guide her.

“I’m glad I’m the one to introduce you to bossa nova.” His lips brushed against her neck, sending sparks throughout her body. “Do you like that?” His deep voice vibrated against her skin.

Cassie lifted her head up to his with a smile. “Yes.”

His eyes darkened with desire. “I want to learn all your secrets.”

He kissed her shoulder and his fingers toyed with the thin strap of her dress. In response, her nipples rose to hardened points beneath the silk. “Hmm. You’re aroused.”

His slacks bulged with his own arousal. “So are you,” she whispered, brushing her fingers against the soft linen concealing his erection. She wanted to see if his cock was as big as she imagined. Her pulse pounded with longing for him.

“I definitely am.” With a slow smile, he tilted her chin and her eyes lifted to his.

She held eye contact and saw a wide range of emotions. So mercurial.

“Do you need these?” he asked with his fingers on her glasses. “Or do they make you feel safe?”

“No,” she answered. “And yes, maybe a little,” she said with a nervous laugh. She took off her glasses, and he placed them on the table.
