Who was thissomeone? He had no right to feel jealous because she wasn’t his. Leo parked the car in front of the townhouse.

Cassandra undid the seatbelt. “You haven’t answered my question.”

How could he possibly explain his feelings for her in a succinct way? “There isn’t enough time to give you the answer you deserve. I’ll be more prepared next time.”

“I haven’t agreed to see you yet.” Her words were noncommittal, but her gaze filled with interest.

He believed she wanted him, but he had to give her time to believe it. “Take as much time as you need.”

She gave him a small nod.

“I’ll give you my private cell number. Only a handful of people have it.” He typed in his number and handed it back.

“Don’t you want my number?”

“Not until you’re ready.”

Cassandra tilted her head, studying him. “I appreciate you giving me some time.”

“It’s the right thing to do.” It was also the hardest thing to do. He opened his door and rushed to the other side to open hers.

She stepped out. Her skirt hugged her hips to perfection.

“So, I’ll wait for your call.” He didn’t want to wait, but he had no choice.

“Thank you.” Her voice was almost a whisper. “I promise to—”

He interrupted her, “Call me when you want to talk.”

With a nod she turned, taking a few steps, and turned back. “Bye.”

“Bye.” He smiled and waited until she unlocked the door and let herself in. Before she closed the door, she waved him over to her.

Leo dashed across the sidewalk and up the few steps to the door. “What is it?” he asked, searching her eyes.

“You never asked why I’m attracted to you.”

“I wasn’t sure if you were anymore.” Leo put his hands in his pockets, anticipation ticked up his pulse. “Are you?”

She looked up at him through her lashes. “I’m dazzled by Eros, and I’m intrigued by Leo.”

She did feel the same way about him as he did about her. He moved in closer, and she placed a hand on his chest. “I still need some time.”

He ached to touch her, to kiss her, but she was right. She needed time to think about everything. He met her gaze. “I look forward to hearing from you. Day or night. Call me.”

“I will.” She gave him a wide smile and closed the door.

He wanted to jump for joy. She would call him, he would explain, and everything would be okay.
