Lucy glanced up from signing the bill. “Probably just another celebrity trying to have a quiet lunch and not be bothered by anyone.”

Cassie got to her feet.

Lucy stood and took a long look at her.

She smoothed her long skirt. “What’s wrong?”

“Nothing a little shopping won’t fix.”

“I hate shopping,” she said. With her wide hips, nothing fit right, and she’d leave the store feeling worse than when she walked in.

“I understand. I used to hate it, too, but it’s time to change things up. We’ll pick out a few outfits that will help you forget your ex-boyfriend.”

“Okay,” Cassie muttered, placing her trust in Lucy.

“Would you mind carrying the baby bag for me?” Lucy navigated the double stroller up the steps.

“No problem.” Cassie grabbed her purse and hoisted the baby bag over her shoulder, following Lucy.
