She drew in a sharp breath, her gaze flying up to mine.

“I told you, no flirting…”

“This is just me being honest.”

“What am I supposed to do with that?”

“Date me.”

“You’re absurd.”

“Date me,” I repeated, slower.

“I don’t know if I can do that.”

“Try then.”

“You have no idea what you’re asking me to do.” She closed her eyes and sighed.

I let go of her hand to cup her chin. “I have an idea. And I’m not saying this is going to be easy, because there are other women, and there are cameras.”

She opened them again, peering up at me beneath long lashes. “Baby steps.”

“I’ll take baby steps.” I grinned, relishing in the feel of her skin against my fingers.

“I’ve got to finish these rose petals. You distracted me.”

“You didn’t seem to mind too much.”

“I’ll mind tomorrow.” She laughed softly.

“Let me help.”

“You know what to do.” She stepped back, her gaze hovering on me before heading back to her workbench.

Dating Harper might end up being the biggest scandal I’d ever been part of, depending on how the show approached it. It might derail everything I came on the show to accomplish. But when I was with her, I didn’t care. I saw the opportunities I’d passed up, and this was my third and final chance.

Steven was going to kill me when this show aired.
